Precinct 4 Public Road Update – Heavy Rain Event (June 19, 2026)
Due to the heavy rains on Friday, June 19, Precinct 4 experienced significant road damage in several areas, particularly in the eastern end of the precinct. Please use caution and be aware of the following road conditions:
- County Road 508 is open to traffic, but it is severely damaged, and only one lane is passable. Please be considerate of other drivers as you travel this road.
- County Road 408 is open, but it is also damaged down to one lane just below the Mills County Precinct 4 barn. Please use caution in this area.
- County Road 414 has damage around several culverts near the Crumley residence. Please be careful when traveling through that area.
- County Road 417 sustained major road damage, but it is currently open and passable.
Due to the approximately seven inches of rain received across Precinct 4—especially in the eastern portion of the precinct—we ask the public to please be patient with us as we work to restore these roads back to their prior condition.
We are thankful to have a week of clear weather ahead and are hopeful we can make substantial progress during this time.
TXDOT and Mills County Precinct 3 & 4 are planning to close CR 508 on Monday, October 13th, which will render it infeasible for traffic to pass through this location. The detour will utilize CR 527 and CR 529 as an alternate route.
